You can also opt to take semi-retirement. Semi-retirement means a combination of working part-time and taking a pension for the time that you don’t work. This allows you to reduce the time that you work but supplement your income with part of your pension. Semi-retirement can be taken between the ages of 68 and 73, or until the time the maximum tax-allowable retirement pension is reached. You must consult your employer if you wish to take a semi-retirement. |
