Most people know how important it is to check their pension scheme regularly. But most people don't do it because they don't know where to start. A new online tool was recently developed to help: Pensioenstarter.
The National Institute for Family Finance Information (Nibud) created the Pensioenstarter tool to help people take the first step in managing their pensions.
How does the Pensioenstarter work?
The Pensioenstarter tool first asks you to enter some personal information, such as your age, your job, and your employment and home situation. The tool then identifies the key points of action for your situation, so you know the most important steps to take.
For employees aged 45 and younger
Pensioenstarter was developed for people who can still accrue pension. Nibud hopes to encourage people aged 45 and younger to start actively managing their pensions. Pension tends to be a far-off concern for this demographic, even though they can make a real impact on their future pensions if they start now.
