Arranging a good pension together

Pension funds are for employees, employers, and pensioners. Together, these parties are in charge – at our fund and at all other Dutch pension funds as well.

This often brings about some misunderstandings. We are not a government agency and we do not have shareholders looking to earn money off your pension.

A good pension is what it's all about

Pension funds in general, and ours in particular, believe that pensions are best arranged in collaboration with members. Sharing both the costs and the risks is better for everyone. Sharing costs saves you money, while sharing risks gives you access to a pension if you are unable to work and gives your family access to a pension if you pass away (during your employment).

Earn €3 for every €1 you invest

This has been our work method for years. And it's paid off. Roughly one third of your pension comes from the contribution you and your employer pay (or paid). We earn the remaining two-thirds by investing your contribution. For every €1 you and your employer invest, you receive approximately €3 in pension.
Our investments are becoming increasingly sustainable . This contributes to better returns and a better world – a world worth enjoying when you retire.

Fair and transparent

Pension funds are committed to being fair and transparent. This website and our annual reports contain detailed information our costs, our pension fee investments, and more. The details of your pension have been included in our pension scheme. This scheme was drafted in consultation with employers and employees (also known as our social partners). They are committed to keeping things as fair as possible for everyone involved. This tends to result in lots of rules and regulations. While they are certainly open and fair, these regulations are not always easy to understand. We work with other pension funds to improve the Federation of the Dutch Pension Funds (Pensioenfederatie), with the aim of making things clear and understandable for everyone.

Rewarding investors in the financial sector

Pension funds work in the financial sector. To secure the best investors who will provide you with the best possible pension later on, our asset managers receive salaries comparable to those in the financial sector. After all, we need specialised experts, and these experts often come with high fees. That said, we only hire experts like these if they make a real contribution to your pension.

Independent management

Pension funds manage huge sums of money – money that has been jointly invested by employers and employees. We handle this money with extreme care and adhere to a strict set of rules and regulations created specifically for pension funds. In fact, the Netherlands has the strictest regulations in the world. De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) and the Netherlands Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM) ensure strict compliance with these regulations.
