If you marry, are entering into a registered partnership, or are cohabiting, make sure you check whether your partner is registered with your pension fund. Your annual personal overview or Mijn Pensioencijfers (‘My pension figures’) will tell you whether this is the case.

If you are going to marry or are entering into a registered partnership, you do not need to take any action. Your municipality will automatically forward your personal data as held in the Municipal Personal Records (Basisregistratie Persoonsgegevens, BRP) to your pension fund. More information on marriage.  

Please note: if you are going to cohabit, you must register your partner with the pension fund. This registration is subject to certain conditions. For instance, you may need to have a cohabitation contract. More information on cohabitation.
