Your pension

What is a pension?

Pension is the term to describe the payments you receive upon retirement income. Pension also means income for your surviving dependants when you die.

A pension consists of two components:

1. The statutory provisions such as:

  • the General Old Age Pensions Act (AOW)
  • the Surviving Dependants Act (Anw)
  • the Work and Income according to Labour Capacity Act (WIA)

2. The employee pension is an additional pension for you and your surviving dependant(s) that you build up with the fund through your employer.

Your pension scheme of the Astellas Pension Fund distinguishes the following:

  • an old-age pension: paid to you each month from the age of 68 (68th birthday), as long as you live
  • a partner's pension: paid to your partner after your death
  • an orphan's pension: paid to your children after your death
  • an invalidity pension: paid to you as long as you are fully incapacitated for work
