Each year, the Astellas Pension Fund Board determines whether your accrued pension entitlements are adjusted to the general rise in wages. Otherwise, your pension can drop in value. For example, in 20 years’ time, one euro will buy you less than it does now. This allowance, also referred to as indexation, consists of an adjustment to the wage development at the employer. Your contribution to your pension does not change in connection with this allowance.
The allowance is conditional. No funds are reserved and the allowance cannot be claimed. In the long term too, it is not sure whether and to what extent the allowance applies. Each year the Board decides whether sufficient means are available to index. If the Board believes that no means are available or that they are insufficient, only partial or no indexation will take place.
If you leave employment and you leave your pension entitlements with the fund or if you have retired, the allowance is determined on the basis of the consumer price index (CPI). This allowance too is conditional. No funds are reserved and the allowance cannot be claimed.
