Are you living together? Send us your cohabitation agreement

If you live together, you share more with each other on a personal and financial level. However, nothing is automatically arranged for your pension.

What can you do?

If you want your partner to be entitled to a partner’s pension after you die, you must register your partner with us.

Certain conditions apply to this:

  • you have not yet retired
  • you and your partner are unmarried and not registered partners
  • your cohabitation agreement has been recorded at the civil-law notary and you can send us a copy of it

You will receive notification from us if we have accepted your registration. You will then see your partner’s name in Mijn Pensioencijfers (My Pension Figures) and your Uniform Pension Overview (UPO).

How much will your partner receive?

You accrue 1.3125% partner’s pension every year. If you die, your partner receives this accrued partner’s pension plus the pension that would still have been accrued had you remained employed at Astellas until your retirement date.

The pension overview states precisely how much partner’s pension we will provide for your partner. You can view your personal pension overview online in Mijn Pensioencijfers (My Pension Figures).

What else can you arrange?

You can ensure that your partner receives a higher income after you die by taking out insurance through a bank or insurer yourself for this purpose. If you leave the company or retire, you can use part of your old-age pension to arrange additional partner’s pension for your partner.
